SAPSASA Tennis

During the holidays I was involved  in Bruce Cup, held in Perth, WA. The Bruce Cup is a tennis tournament that is played each year, every state puts a team together that is made up of 7 girls and 7 boys. The tournament is run by School Sports Australia. While I was there not only was I representing the state, but I was also representing the school.

Being undefeated in the team challenge I did my-self proud, and I represented the school well. By the end of the week we found out that we came 4th, and in the individual event I came 5th out of 32 people.

The days were long but also fun. On day 1 we had the opening ceremony, as captain of team SA I had to lead the team out with pride and courage.

Day 2 matches started, we played Tasmania and the hot weather began. Day 3 ran the exact same way but we played New South Wales, they were the strongest team and we knew it would be hard. Day 4 was the best, we played ACT and  the team was really friendly and the pressure was low. Day 5 was hard, we played Western Australia. Day 6 was hot for us but not so much hot for Northern Territory, we managed to not drop a match! Day 7, Victoria was really loud, the team support was great. Finally the last day came, Queensland were too strong on the day for us on that day.

National Bandanna Day

October 25th marks National Bandanna Day, an initiative by CanTeen Australia to raise funds to support young people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Year 7 students will be selling bandannas in the quadrangle near the office before school until Friday, 25th October - unless sold out beforehand.  We aim to sell all 4 boxes (240 bandannas) and hope our school community helps us to support CanTeen in their important work.
