Careers

Year 10 students

We are now well into our program of Careers classes with the Year 10 students. The students have been a delight to work with, interested and attentive and keen to learn about the Careers timeline and the processes over the next several months.  Most Year 10 students undertook and completed the Morrisby Online task on Friday 6 May.  In general, students approached the task very thoughtfully and with maturity.  We are hoping they have found their reports to be useful and insightful.  By the end of this week we should have caught up with all the students who missed the task on 6 May and provided them with the information they need in order to complete the task in their own time.  There are a handful of students who have started but not finished the program and they are aware they are able to complete the task at any time (but hopefully in the very near future). Please encourage your children to complete the program if they have not already done so and to show you their Morrisby reports and have a chat about the information they provide and the possibilities they suggest. Contact staff in B21 if there are any issues or concerns.

Year 12 students

All Year 12 VCE students will attend an excursion to La Trobe University on Friday 3 June. We are very excited to be able to take the students onto a university campus, especially given the restrictions which have been in place at tertiary institutions up until recently.  We hope students will find this a useful activity and, for those still quite unsure of their future direction, an opportunity to reflect further and undertake some practical course and career research. For those who are confident of their direction, we hope students will gain some valuable skills to put into place when attending Open Days later in the year and also some useful information to aid them with their future pathway planning. Permission slips are being distributed through the Consent2Go program in the usual way.
