News From the Principal
What a busy term we have had and are continuing to have. Please ensure you take note of the upcoming dates and events and sign all permissions on uEducateUs.
Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser
Our major fundraising event saw us raise a total of $1342.64, which is fantastic. A big thank you to all of the staff who worked on the stand at the Epsom Bunnings- some for hours on end. An extra big thank you to Bree who not only worked from 8am until 4pm on the BBQ but also spent many hours purchasing the items we needed, packing the eskys and doing all of the other associated leg work- this event would not have happened without her, so three cheers for Bree!
Another special thank you to Woolworths at Bendigo Market Place who donated over $300 worth of goods such as sausages, bread and soft drink- this meant that most of the money made on the day could be counted as profit and not go towards expenses. We are so grateful to Woolworths for their very kind gesture.
Staff will now get together to decide how best to spend these funds in a way that most meets the educational needs of our students and enhances the already fantastic education that we offer each of our students. We will keep you posted with regard what we are putting this fundraising total towards.
COVID Updated Information
We are no longer required to be sending home fortnightly Rapid Antigen (RAT) Tests. However, if you require a box for testing your child/ren due to there being a positive case in your household (this is a requirement if you want your child to still attend school during the positive person's infectious period), please contact Lisa and a box can be sent home.
A reminder that if there is a positive case in the household any other household members are not required to quarrantine, but are required to perform 5 RAT tests over a 7 day period and wear a mask when leaving the home.
NAPLAN
We are done and dusted for another year. This year our testing was all online and we hope that means that the results will be provided to us a lot sooner than normal. Well done to Pip and Link who sat the four separate tests over the last two weeks and gave each test their very best efforts.
Raywood Railway Station
Our students have been invited to take part in the tree planting at the newly revamped Raywood Railway Station. This will take place on Tuesday June 7th. If any parents or community members would like to join us, please meet at the school gate at 9am and join us for a stroll down to the station. We are excited to see how things have progressed since our last visit to the station.
Winter Sports
Students in Years 4, 5 and 6 are invited to participate in one of three sports on Wednesday June 8th. Students were asked to select from netball, soccer or football and have been placed in teams according to their selections. Teams will comprise of a mix of students from Elmore PS, Our Lady Sacred Heart (Elmore), Colbinabbin PS, Nanneela PS and Goornong PS. The day is being held at Colbinabbin. Transport to and from the sports will be via mini bus, students will arrive at school and depart via their normal means as the sports fit within our normal school hours. Can parents of students in Years 4,5,6 please check uEducateUs and read/sign the permission form for this event?
School Council News
Unfortunately we were not able to hold our May meeting due to a number of members who were unable to attend. Our next meeting is on Monday June 20th (at 5.30pm) and we must hold a meeting this term to be compliant with Department of Education rulings for school registration. Therefore, if any members already know that this date is not suitable, please contact Lisa or Bree as soon as you can.
Attitudes to School Survey
Parents of Students in Years 4,5 & 6 will today receive a letter from the Department of Education and Training with regard the annual Student Attitudes to School Survey. This survey is completed by students during class-time and gives our students the opportunity to anonymously express their views about various aspects of their education and school experience. Not only is this data extremely useful feedback at the school level but the department also uses it to guide future direction and planning. As always if you have any questions at all about this or any other matter, please contact Lisa.
Don't forget to follow us on our Raywood Primary School Facebook page.
Thank you everyone, Lisa Duffy

CAMPS SPORTS AND EXCURSIONS FUND
Families holding a valid means-tested concession card or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply. A Special Consideration category also exists. Schools can receive applications from families over terms one and two.
Families can list more than one student in the one application form if they are attending the same school.
The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) provides payments for eligible students to attend activities like:
- school camps or trips
- swimming and school-organised sports programs
- outdoor education programs
- excursions and incursions.
The CSEF payment cannot be used towards books, stationery, school uniforms. Schools will need permission before allocating CSEF funds and a credit note will stay on the family account until the family advises the school how they want the funds allocated.
Applications can be entered from 31 January 2022. Parents/carers wishing to apply for CSEF payments for 2022 must submit their application form to the school by 24 June 2022.
However, a parent/career will only be required to submit an application form to the school in the following circumstances:
- the parent/career is applying for the CSEF payment for the first time – i.e. an application form was not lodged with the school in the previous year; or
- circumstances have changed – e.g. there has been a change in the care arrangement of the student, a change of name or CRN, or a new sibling has commenced at the school and the parent/career wishes to apply for the CSEF payment for the new sibling. If you require a CSEF form please contact Bree at school. ASAP please i need to get these submitted and would hate for anyone to miss out.
