WHAT'S COOKING!

Year 12 Business Management 

On Friday 27 May,  Year 12 Business Management students made chocolate crackles to enhance their understanding of operations management principles.

 

Whilst making the snacks, students needed to utilise lean management principles and try to minimise waste in the process of creating a valued output.

 

Some were more successful than others!

Year 10 Food and Culture

Ms Marshalls Year 10 Food and Culture classes have been completing their World of Food Learning Task. 

 

Each group had to complete a research component on a country of their choice and then find a recipe, order ingredients and prepare their recipe during their practical lesson.

 

Students prepared homemade spaghetti bolognese, tacos, sweet and sour pork, sushi, burgers, dumplings, souvlaki, soufflé and schnitzels.

Students prepared homemade carbonara, butter chicken and roti, bibimbap, salmon, macarons, orange chicken, enchiladas and souvlakis!

Year 11 Food Studies

This term, students have been learning about the influence of migration on Australian cuisine.

 

Students conducted a taste test on some Greek dishes, whilst learning about the influence of Greek migration on ingredients available to us in Australia today.  

 

Dishes included spanakopita (spinach and feta pie), taramosalata (fish roe dip) and dolmades (vine leaves stuffed with rice).
