Year 12 Chemistry Independent Investigations
Over the last 2 weeks Year 12 Chemistry students have been completing their big Area of Study 3 Independent Investigations.
Students were required to create their own experiments to investigate an electrochemical concept using Galvanic or Electrolytic Cells and create a Scientific poster to communicate their findings.
Biology and Psychology, are also starting their Area of Study 3 in the coming weeks.
Yarra Ranges Tech School
It was 8G and 8J’s turn to visit the Tech School. Many students chose to help Lachlan, a teenager that spends a lot of his time in hospital. There were many creative solutions to help Lachlan be entertained and be able to access schools.
Students presented their ideas at the end of the 2 day workshop. Some solutions included dancing robot dogs with a light and sound show and teenager retreats in the hospital, complete with computer games and tech solutions.
Other scenarios included helping someone in a wheelchair by having an alarm sound if they fell out of their chair and the use of little bits to create a prototype.
All students worked really hard on their projects and should be congratulated on their hard work.
Farewell to Julie Colyer
On Friday 27 May, we said good bye to the much loved Julie Colyer. Julie has been a very enthusiastic member of our staff and will be greatly missed by staff and students.
Thanks Julie for your time at Lilydale High School and enjoy the challenges of building a school from the ground up!

From VR to 3D printing, to drones, games, robots and Lego challenges, we have it all!
Year 7 STEAM Tech Taster
Year 7 students have been exploring the makerspace tools and creating some awesome creations using Lego in preparation for their upcoming Learning Task.
Love seeing the creativity and collaboration in all classes - awesome job 7D, 7E and 7F!
