Term 2 Positive Assemblies
Year Level Leaders will be hosting assemblies on the last day of term (Friday 24 June) to acknowledge the positive contributions and achievements of students. This includes:
Year 7 will be during period 1 and Year 8 during period 2, both in the Red Theatre. Congratulations in advance to the students who are recognised.
100% Attendance Luncheon
We all know how important attendance at school is for learning. Year 7 & 8 students with perfect attendance for term 2 will be rewarded with a celebratory lunch on the last day of term, organised by their leaders.
This is something planned for every term, so there is plenty of opportunity for students to strive towards improving attendance and obtaining an invite to this celebration in semester 2.
Pat Cronin Foundation Speaker and Immersion Day
A special thanks goes out to the Year 7 & 8 Leaders and Teachers for their efforts organising the Pat Cronin Foundation to attend earlier this term, along with the Immersion Day.
Students experienced the Be Wise, Think Carefully and Act Kindly presentation from the Pat Cronin Foundation. The vision of a a world free from the Coward Punch along with empowering students to never use violence was a clear takeaway from the event.
The Immersion Day workshops and activities centred around the themes of positive decision making, building resilience, overcoming adversity, teamwork, connections and relationships. Unfortunately, guest speaker, Beau Vernon, was unable to attend due to illness. We will look to re-engage Beau later in the year.
Ongoing work on these themes will continue in Home Group across term 3.
Thanks to Ms Fallon and welcome to Ms Taylor
As most will be aware, there has been some movement in staff leading the Year 8 cohort in 2022. The year started with Ms Cara McLean as Year Level Leader, with Mr Ricky Strange and Mr Adrian Cirillo appointed as Year Level Assistants.
Mr Strange was promoted to oversee Year 9 in term 2, and Ms Kellie Fallon joined the team to replace. Ms Fallon is now off on leave, and we are excited to announce and welcome Ms Sarah Taylor as Year Level Assistant in Year 8 for the remainder of 2022.
Ms Taylor is an outstanding English teacher, currently teaching many year 8 classes. Ms Taylor joined CESC in 2022 and has been an asset to the College. We are confident students (and families) will love working with Ms Taylor to support positive learning outcomes and engagement.
Games, Clubs and Activities
There is still plenty happening outside of classes for our students. Below is the current schedule for available before school, lunch and after school games, clubs and activities.
