2021 Subject Selections

COURSE COUNSELLING FOR 2021

It’s that time of the year again when we begin the most important process of planning for student subject and course selections for the next year.

Planning for this in the current environment has presented certain challenges, as there is a need to maintain social isolation and distancing as much as possible. For this reason, we will be undertaking virtual parent-student Course Counselling sessions in 2020, which we hope will allow accessibility and ease for parent/carers to be participate in the course counselling sessions.

This new process means that parent/carers will receive a letter and email invite for a 20 minute video session via teams (our current platform for student communication) to discuss your child’s career goals and subject selections.

Prior to the interview, your child will have completed a draft Pathway Plan that they should take the time to discuss with you. The plans will be accessible on Compass on the students dashboard, pinned as a Chronicle entry.

At the interview, parents and students will discuss this draft plan and make subject selections relevant to their career goals, with the guidance of a Course Counsellor.

We look forward to meeting with parents/carers to discuss the many options and choices students have within our new Explore, Enhance and Excel programs. Please look out for a forthcoming invitation, which will arrive according to the following interview timeline.
