Winter Sport Program Changes

The Junior School will not be participating in local sporting competitions during Term 2 and Term 3 including Netball, Hockey and Football. This decision was not taken lightly and was based on; protecting the health of students, preserving the onsite learning environment and to not cause disruption to local competition draws with the possible withdrawal of KWS teams should the School experience any further shutdowns during an already shortened season. 

An internal Co-curricular Sports program for Years 3-6 will run on Monday and Wednesday during Term 3 starting with an abridged Athletics Program from Weeks 1-5 followed by a Winter Sport House Competition from Weeks 6-10 depending upon current easing of restrictions. 

Further details will be forwarded to parents in the coming weeks.  

Virtual Cross Country | 22 June - 22 July

As you will be aware, we were unable to hold our annual Cross-Country carnival last term due to the campus closure. Understandably, there were some students who were disappointed that they did not have the opportunity to participate in the carnival. We have been alerted to an online event which would provide those students interested an opportunity to participate in a virtual cross country with students from around Australia. This is not compulsory for any KWS students and must be undertaken with parental facilitation and supervision. 

The Great Australian Cross-Country Championships provides students with an opportunity to see how they may have performed compared to other students from around Australia this year. Interested students will be required to run the designated distance for their age group and track their chosen course using a GPS tracking app. Parents must be aware that registration for students under 14 can only be done by a parent and participation will require parent supervision during the event. 

Any parents wishing their child to participate will need to register their child via the Great Australian Cross-Country Championships online. To manage the results parents will need to download the Run Keeper app on their phone. Please read privacy statements carefully if considering registering your child for this event.
