Magis report

Next Wednesday morning the Personal Project Display Opening will taker place in the College library at 7:30am.  Twenty-three projects created by Years 7 and 8 Magis option classes will be on display, and the event will open with a light breakfast.  A full project catalogue will be available at the opening, and a flyer giving details can be viewed by the link below. Parents of all students involved are invited to attend.

 

The Year 11 and 12 section of the Magis Arts-Humanities Challenge has now been completed. Seventy-seven students competed including 42 from Year 12, a fantastic response. St Louis and Loreto had a tight tussle for honours in Year 12, whilst Loreto and Campion were the leaders in Year 11. Sophie Manners and Madison Lucas tied for first place at Year 12 level, one mark ahead of Aneka Johnson, Jasmin Collins, Ethan Pasch and Lucy Brown, whilst Ben Negus won the Year 11 section ahead of Rosie Defrancesco.

 

Entries are now being finalised for the John XXIII Public Speaking competition, with most heats to be completed now in the final two weeks of school, and the grand final in week 2 of next term. Opti-MINDSnumbers have also been pleasing with a total of four teams lining up from Years 7, 8 or 9, including two in Science-Engineering. Their preparation of long-term challenges  starts on day one of next term.
