Year 11 &12 Reports

Please note all Year 11 and 12 Semester One Reports are now available to parents via SEQTA Engage. The reports provide an indication of student progress in each of the courses they study. Additional information regarding the examination result, where applicable, as well as the cohort average is included in the report. Teachers have also provided information regarding each student’s work ethic.

The College would strongly encourage our senior students to reflect on their academic progress and application this semester. Whilst it has been a challenging time for all members of our community we are very aware that for some students this has been particularly apparent. As such it is important students speak with their classroom teachers as well as parents and peers regarding any queries they have in relation to a particular course they are studying. This can assist students to regain perspective, especially if they have not achieved as well as they wanted to.

Year 7 Retreat – Community in Christ

On Wednesday 17 June, the Year 7 students and Homeroom teachers were able to take time out of their busy schedules to reflect on their own self and relationships with others, God and the environment. The theme of the day was 'Community in Christ' and focussed on three main areas; family, college and church.

It was the first time the 24:7 Youth School Ministry Team were able to facilitate a retreat day in a school since COVID-19. Year 7 students were engaged with games, challenges, narratives, drama performances and times for reflection and discussion which was aimed at challenging students to become people for others and followers of Jesus.

A big thank you to the 24:7 School Ministry leaders, Year 7 students, Homeroom teachers and Education Assistants who helped make the day possible. Thank you also to our wonderful College staff and students who helped logistically with food ordering, distribution, chairs and audio visual set up in three large venues. All a practical example of a Community in Christ in action.

World Environment Day 2020

Several of our Lower Secondary school students enthusiastically took part in the replanting of trees around the labyrinth area at lunch time on Friday 5 June, World Environment Day.

It was so satisfying for our young gardeners to feel the soil between their fingers and enjoy the experience of tending to Mother Earth with care and loving kindness just as we would tend to each moment of interaction with one another in our daily lives.

Interhouse Cross Country

All races are now complete for our modified Interhouse Cross Country Carnival. The Year 11s ran during their Id Quod Volo Day in week 7 and the Year 12s ran during the assembly period on Thursday of this week. The final race for our Year 12s had a magical finish with the Year 7 students cheering them home across the finish line.

The Overall Champion, Spirit Award and Individual Champions will be presented later this term. All results will be up on display in the Pavilion from Monday. The Spirit Award will be made up of points from all students that made the cut off time of 21 minutes for boys and 23 minutes for girls along with the war cry results from the Year 7 and 12 students.

All students are to be congratulated on their participation and effort displayed in all races.

  • Only four rounds will be played (no finals). The winning team will be the team who finishes on top of the ladder.

Trials for all teams will take place in week 10 of this term. A schedule will be posted in the notices next week.

National Refugee Week

The College community participated in Refugee week through prayer, learning and action.  The library curated a selection of relevant resources available for students and staff.

The Chapel lawn has featured cyclone fencing – a reminder of unwelcoming restrictions and detention centres. In this Year of Welcome students and staff were invited to learn more about persons seeking protection and to write messages of welcome and commitment.  Today there was also the opportunity to participate in a ‘Circle of Silence’ in solidarity with persons who have no voice and have been marginalised.
