From the Principal

“Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift. That’s why they call it the ‘present’!

Bil Keane

On behalf of the staff, may I express our sincere thanks to all the students involved in creating the beautiful photo collage you see on the front of this week’s newsletter.  It was a wonderfully simple gesture that meant so much to all of us.  Thank you.

Second, as Years 3-10 plan their return next Tuesday, I remind our whole community that we cannot eliminate the risk of COVID-19 until a vaccine is invented. However, Mr MacLean and the Executive have implemented common sense rules and protocols to ensure that we minimise the risk of infection at College.   It is every student’s responsibility to observe the important new measures https://www.hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au/our-remote-learning/ implemented to not only ensure your safety and good health, but also that of the wider community.

Finally, like Bil Keane (see above) I fervently believe we must embrace each day with all our hearts and make the most of every opportunity that arises. Treating each day as a gift, or as a present, enables us to take control of what is in our means. Such an approach also eliminates regrets and ensures that when the tough days come (and they will come), that we have a swagful of wonderful memories, achievements and friendships to look back on which in turn gives us strength to persevere.

We are at our best when we are one, next Tuesday that privilege returns for the majority of our student body.  Until then stay safe and enjoy the long weekend.
