Co-curricular - Junior Sport

With the coming of winter, we have experienced another down grading in the restrictions that COVID-19 has placed on us. Unfortunately, while many of us are able to get another step closer to normality, there is still a way to go with what we can and can not do with sport. With all the information at hand and keeping the best interest of the boys in mind, it has been decided to postpone the Junior School Athletics Carnival until early Term 3. The new date for our Athletics Carnival is Thursday 23 July (Week 1, Term 3). It is hoped that by then we will be able to hold the carnival in the usual manner.

On a more positive note, there are many trials that will now be able to take place. Last Friday, you would have received an email from me in regard to athletics field event trials. They have started in earnest with the boys starting to be placed into the events. We are also, most excitingly, able to commence our winter sport trials.

Boys wishing to trial for winter sport will be involved in three trial sessions. The first being held on Saturday 13 June and the second and third sessions on the Monday afternoons of Week 8 and 9. Please see below the times and locations of the trials.

All trials will be conducted, giving close consideration to the AIS’s return to sport policy, with boys being spaced and hygiene procedures being followed. Parents are asked not to attend the trials and to wait in their cars for the boys to be dismissed.  Any changes in trials will be shared on Team App and boys will be notified during school hours of changes to athletics trials.
