Principal's Report
Welcome to our new school year everyone! I would like to warmly welcome all our new students and their families to our school. Our Kindergarten classes began last Tuesday. In the first week of the school year Kindergarten students completed their Best Start Assessment to prepare their learning program for their first year of primary school.
I would like to welcome our new staff members;
Mr Nigel McClifty our Deputy Principal
Miss Heertha Janapalachandran - 2J
Miss Reena Legaspi - 2R
Miss Raymonda El-Bazouni - 2E
Miss Flora Lam - 3L
Mrs Hannah Doherty - 4H
Miss Ananya Castgir - 5A
Miss Neellab Popal - 5P
Miss Katie May - 6K
I am sure these teachers will make a significant contribution to our school through out the school year.
Our class organisation is based on the most appropriate placement for students within our school staffing allocation. Classes have been organised for the year and teachers allocated.
A big thank you to those parents who have been volunteering in the uniform shop. It has been a very busy week and it is impressive to all see our students in full school uniform. It shows great pride in our school.
I encourage all parents to attend our next P&C meeting on Wednesday, 19 February to support the school and ensure the services we have provided in the past continue this year for our students and families.
Girraween P.S. has a long tradition of providing high quality education programs with high expectations and high achievement. We all need to continue working together to ensure our school maintains high academic standards and continues to offer a well rounded education including academic, creative arts, sports, respect and responsibility as well as maintaining a happy and safe learning environment.
We’ve had a very positive start to the school year. I look forward to another productive year for our school community here at Girraween Public School.
Regards,
G. Walker
