Mr Irwin's Message
Hello families and welcome to the final newsletter for Term 2.
Senior School Urban Camp
There won't be a video for this week’s newsletter as I’m currently away on camp with our senior students and not prepared to jump in front of the camera without my beauty sleep! This year our Senior Students have traveled to Melbourne and are staying at Urban Camp in Royal Park for the first time. On Monday Students toured the MCG, Melbourne Gaol, went bowling and hit a video arcade. Today they're off to the Melbourne Museum and Imax before visiting the Zoo tomorrow. It’s busy marshaling 70 students around the streets of Melbourne but well worth it as an experience well out of the comfort zones of students and staff!
A huge thanks to the staff giving up time away from home to provide such a wonderful experience for students.
Student Led Conferences
Looking ahead to Term 3 I wanted to confirm our date for student led conferences where students showcase their learning from Terms 1 and 2 with the support of their teacher. On this day attendance is only required for your child’s conference. Whilst booking will be available early next term, please be aware that the date for learning conferences is Friday July 28th. A reminder these conferences aren’t to discuss Semester Reports, Parents have the option to book a time with classroom teachers by appointment if they wish to do this.
End of Term
A reminder that our final assembly of term will be Friday at 2:15. We will announce SWAG (Students With Amazing Growth) winners and Karter Ince from Foundation A will ‘chop his mop’. Hope to see you there and hope you have a wonderful school holidays.
Bye for now!
Sam
Karter’s World Greatest Shave Fundraiser
One of our Foundation students Karter is fundraising for the World’s Greatest Shave! He has been growing his hair for over a year and a half and it is now at a length where he can donate it to someone who has been impacted by cancer. If you would like to donate to Karter’s fundraising efforts, please scan the QR code below. He will be getting his hair cut at the last assembly of the term. Well done Karter!
Crazy Hair or Hat Day
In support of Karter's contribution to the Leukaemia Foundation's Worlds Greatest Shave, on the last day of term students can come to school with crazy hair or wear a hat.
