HEALTHY EATING AND EXAM TIME
Over the course of the term the Year 9 and 10 Food Technology students have been researching and designing a meal task in which the students research main meal or breakfast dishes. Through the investigation process the students analyse the nutritional value, consider time and skill level required and deal with the constraints of costing.
The students have produced some fantastic results and the confidence, pride and personal satisfaction each student has shown is a testament to their endeavours.
As students move into the major assessments of the year it is vital that we consider the importance of diet and nutrition and the effect it has on concentration and performance.
If possible, take the time to speak with your children and hopefully make them aware of the importance of a balanced diet and sleep patterns. Take a minute to talk about the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and the types of foods that are being eaten on a daily basis. It is also an opportunity to discuss turn off electronic devices one hour before bed and trying to get a full eight hours of sleep.
