SUCCESS STORIES

ALL-SCHOOLS ATHLETICS

Over the weekends of 28 - 29 October and 4- 5 November Allegra Orso 10L competed at the All-Schools Athletics Championships at Lakeside Athletics Stadium. This competition saw the best of all Public, Private and Catholic Schools compete to be the best athletes in the State.

Allegra had an amazing meet jumping 5.32m in Long Jump securing her 4th place, then jumping 11.83m in Triple Jump resulting in her being 2nd in the State.

These are amazing results following her success in the Schools Sports Victoria Championships earlier in the term. Along with this success Allegra has qualified to compete at the Australian All Schools Track and Field Championships in Perth in December, where she will represent McKinnon and Victoria in Triple Jump.

We wish Allegra all the best for the upcoming championships and can’t wait to share her success later this year.

CRICKET SUCCESS

Lewis Sellenger of Year 12 has been selected to play in the Victorian Metro team and will participate in the U19 National Cricket championships to be held in Albury in early December.

A national team for the 2024 U19 World Cup will be selected from this competition.

Lewis has previously represented the state at both the U15 and U17 championships. As an opening fast bowler, Lewis has enjoyed taking plenty of wickets and in 2020 was awarded a Victorian School Sports Award for Cricket. He has been a member of the Cricket Victoria emerging players program for many years and now plays premier cricket for St Kilda.

Congratulations Lewis.
