Aboriginal Murals - Launch
On Tuesday 23rd May some of our Koorie students attended a significant community event. The launch of the mural of two extraordinatory local Aboriginal men whose lives were dedicated to making a difference for Aboriginal people.
Hundreds of people from all backgrounds attended the day and listened to the stories about the great things these two men (Uncle Doug Nicholls and Uncle William Cooper) achieved throughout their lives.
Sorry Day Commemoration
In 2000 'Sorry' was written in the sky above 500,000 Australians walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Sorry Day is now commemorated nationally with thousands of Australians from all walks of life, participating in memorial services, commemorative meetings, survival celebrations and community gatherings to acknowledge the Stolen Generations.
Our Koorie students attended the commemoration at Monash Park where two of our students, Tal (year 11) and T'Leah (year 10) were part of the formal proceedings. (Main picture)
