SHEPPARTON EDUCATION PLAN

As you may be aware work is underway for the four secondary schools in Greater Shepparton (Shepparton High School, Wanganui Park Secondary College, Mooroopna Secondary School and McGuire College) to merge as of 1 January 2020.

There are two key aspects of this merger that we encourage you to participate in:-

Formal school naming process

As part of the formal naming process the new secondary school has been given an interim name: Greater Shepparton College.

Submissions for the new school name must be emailed by Tuesday 16 April 2019 to  Shepparton.Education.Plan@edumail.vic.gov.au.

Meet the new Executive Principal

Ms Genevieve Simson has been appointed as the Executive Principal for the new secondary school. Genevieve has hit the ground running and begun shaping what the Greater Shepparton College (interim name) will look like for 2020.

Genevieve joins us after having lead the establishment of Victoria University Secondary College in Melbourne which involved the merger of three schools.

Meet Genevieve, hear about her vision, and learn more about the new educational approach for the new school.

This session will be particularly valuable to parents and carers who currently have students in Year 6, and will be transitioning to Year 7 in 2020. The opportunities to meet Genevieve will take place at the following locations and times:

Tuesday 26 March           

7pm            Grahamvale PS    85 Grahamvale Rd, Grahamvale

Wednesday 27 March     

9am             Mooroopna PS  16-18 O'Brien Street Mooroopna

2.20pm      Tatura PS    33 Service Street, Tatura

Thursday 28 March

 2.40pm      St Georges Rd PS  120 St Georges Rd, Shepparton

 4.30pm      Shepparton HS  31-71 Hawdon Street, Shepparton

 6.30pm      Wanganui Park SC Parkside Drive, Shepparton               Friday 29 March                   

9am             Bourchier Street PS Balaclava Rd & Bourchier  Shepparton                     

Please note: we have worked to select a number of different locations and times to provide you with an opportunity that works for you and your family. 

School community members are welcome to attend any session, at any school, at any of the above times.
