Emergency Services B'Fast

On Thursday 4th May the Shepparton HIgh School VCAL students provided a breakfast for the Emergency Service crews who work across the Greater Shepparton City Council area to acknowledge their hard work and dedication protecting and helping the community of Shepparton. This was the fourth Annual breakfast that Shepparton High School Year 12 VCAL students have prepared.

About sixty staff from various Emergency Services attended the hot breakfast. There were Police,  Firefighters, Ambulance, CFA, Search and Rescue and others.  Student's arrived at around about 6:30am to help prepare the food.

I quickly got to work as I had to participate in a regional volleyball tournament  in Wodonga. In the following hour, I chopped two kilograms of onions and what an experience it was, crying ha-ha!

Adam was cooking the sausages while I was cooking the bacon and poached eggs.  Dawn and Shania were busy preparing the tea and brewing up the coffee. Curtis fried the onions which were smelling and  looking superb. Mr Nej , Liaqat and some EAL students, Mosin and Bashir cooked the toast and prepared the fruit salad. Ms Kate Peachey helped us cook the seasoned tomatoes.

My time to catch the bus to Wodonga arrived and I was dropped back to Shepp High as Paige took over from me to put the finishing touches on the bacon and eggs.

The Shepparton Bears' Football and Netball Club have provided the venue for the last three years and we are extremely grateful for their support and sponsorship and look forward to this continuing.

Overall, I stayed and helped to the best of my ability before I headed off at 8:00am. I really enjoyed helping out, even though it was a very chilly and early start.
