Year 11 & 12 Exams

Attached is a copy of the VCE Exam Timetable. Your child should have already received a copy of this.

If students do not have an exam on a particular day they are not required to be at school, however, students are more than welcome to study at school. Students must be in school uniform when sitting exams.

All Year 11's and Year 12's completing a Year 12 subject are required to attend the

GAT exam on Wednesday, June 11. Practice GATs and exams are available online

at http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/pages/vce/exams/examsassessreports.aspx

Some Brief Exam Hints Students completing exams should keep the following in mind:

• If a theory question is worth two marks be sure you make two distinct points, particularly if

it is asking for an explanation.

• Read the question carefully and make sure you answer the question that is asked. Many

students miss out on valuable marks as they did not provide the required answer.

• If you do come across a question that looks similar to what has appeared in previous

exams, proceed with caution. Read the question very carefully as it is quite likely that

the requirements or answers being sought are different from what was asked in previous

years.

• On a final note, sit two VCAA examination papers under examination conditions before

the actual exam so that you can determine the speed at which you need to work at.

GAT Information

VCE students undertaking a Year 12 subject will be required to sit the GAT. Information regarding this has already gone home.

VCE students sitting the GAT have now been handed their advice slips and a brochure regarding the GAT.

Attached is a copy of the brochure.
