News from Careers

Year 9 and 10 Students attended KIOSC for a very different experience than they usually associate with KIOSC. Student had a firsthand careers experience, giving them a small window into what it might be like to work in a particular industry, opportunity to have a go and talk to workers and trainers from these professions.

Students could choose from Animation (Time-lapse), Electro technology, Environmental Engineering, Green Trades, Graphic Design, Health Sciences, Robotic Engineering, and Visual Merchandising.

Year 10 students are working on preparing for their work experience placements at eh end of term 2 from Monday June 25 to Friday June 29. Majority of students have organised their placements and are looking forward to the week. It is often a very challenging experience making phone calls approaching workplaces, and then attending work for a whole week. It however a very valuable experience and I thanks parents, teachers and local businesses and community organisations who support our students to have this opportunity.

Lots of things coming up in the tertiary space with open days coming up soon, the best way to find out about these exciting opportunities is to read the weekly careers newsletters by visiting the Careers website.  http://www.scoresbysccareers.com

These newsletters are a great resource and have information about eg; copies are also on compass and in the senior hub.
