Staff Profile

Sam Eddy

Sam has joined Scoresby Secondary College at the start of 2018 as a Drama and English teacher.

He is currently teaching Drama to Year 8, 10 and VCE Units 1&2 and English at Year 7 and VCE Units 1&2. Sam has completed his Master of Teaching (Primary & Secondary) at Monash University with a major in Theatre and Performance.

Prior to joining the teaching profession, Sam took part in a range of screen and live theatre performances in the Melbourne theatre and television scene. Performing from a young age, Sam worked with many actors from diverse backgrounds and fell in love with the Arts.

Throughout his university studies, he worked in many training roles and was eager to combine his love of Drama with mentoring. It was this desire that led him to becoming a Secondary Drama Teacher.

He is extremely passionate about developing students’ self-efficacy and creativity, and strongly believes that every student can and will benefit from performance studies. The thing that Sam loves most about teaching is watching students realise their own potential and having the confidence to take risks and enjoy learning. Sam believes that teaching and learning stems from the power of human connection – relationships, and promotes participation and risk-taking in every classroom.
