CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF LILYDALE HIGH SCHOOL

Commencement Dinner

To help celebrate 100 years of Lilydale High School, past students, former and current teachers, principals, school council members and parents/guardians are invited to the school 'Commencement Dinner' on:

 

Saturday 30 March

  • 6.30 pm (7 pm start)
  • Karralyka Centre
  • Ringwood

A three-course meal (entrée, main and dessert) with free-flowing soft drinks, tea and filtered coffee will be served and alcoholic drinks will also be provided at bar prices.   The cost per person is $80.

 

Seating will be arranged in tables of 10.

 

At the dinner, “Look to the Light” a book on the history of Lilydale High School, written by Lynda Carroll will be introduced.

School Tour & Morning Tea

As some guests are travelling from interstate to attend the school ‘Commencement Dinner’ on Saturday 30 March, we would like to invite guests and their families to attend a school tour and morning tea on Sunday 31 March.

 

The tour will commence at 9.30 am, with a morning tea to be served at 10.30 am.

LHS Hall of Fame

We are very excited to announce that as part of celebrating 100 Years of Lilydale High School – 1919 to 2019, we are establishing a Lilydale High School Hall of Fame.

 

The Lilydale High School Hall of Fame acknowledges those alumni who have demonstrated outstanding contribution, success, achievement and/or service in one or more of the following fields of endeavour:  professional life, sporting pursuits or working in the community.

 

Nominees

Nominees must be past students of Lilydale High School who satisfy one or more the following criteria:

Outstanding achievements at state, national or international level in their field of endeavour.

Demonstrated outstanding leadership or widely acknowledged as a leader within their organisation or field.

Given outstanding service in their field and/or to others.

Held a high office in their organisation or field.

Performed significant heroism. 

Nominations

Posthumous nominations will be accepted, as well as self-nominations.

Nominees will be judged on the merits of their achievements.

Nominees may be asked to provide further details of their achievements and photos, which may be used for the LHS Hall of Fame.

Information in support of nominations will remain confidential to the LHS Hall of Fame Selection Committee and the Principal.

Inductees

An image and a short biography of each inductee will be included in the Hall of Fame Gallery at the school.

Inductees may be invited to attend special events hosted by the school.

We invite you to nominate those whom you believe are worthy of induction into the Lilydale High School Hall of Fame.

Student Competitions

LHS budding writers and artists, here is your opportunity to take your place in 'LHS Centenary History'!

 

There are 2 COMPETITIONS running this term:

 

1.  Write an imaginative piece on what Lilydale High School will be like in 2119.

 

The winning 300 word entry will be published in the book, Look to the Light that details the history of the school and will be on sale later this year.

 

2.  Design a bookmark celebrating 100 years of Lilydale High School.

 

The winning design will be included in each sale of Look to the Light.

 

Entries  CLOSE Monday 4 March.

 

Please submit your entries as digital copies to lilydale.hs@edumail.vic.gov.au or hard copies to the Main Office.
