Virtual Choir Performance

Virtual Choir Performance

Our school Music Captains, Charlotte, Zoe and our expert technician, Luca would love your child/children to take part in creating a virtual choir performance of Carol King’s song “You’ve got a Friend” to help us feel that we are “together”, even though we are apart.

In next week’s Music lesson, we have explained this to the children and have provided them with a performance track and lyric sheets to use.

We ask that you help your child by simply recording them by Friday August 21st and uploading this to a link that will be provided in next week’s newsletter.

Thank you for helping your child connect to friends in the school through this wonderful song.

Instructions:

To take part, you will need TWO devices:

On the first device (like a phone or ipad) you need to play the song and have the lyrics visible. Your performer should only have their earphone in one ear so they can hear the track to sing along to, can hear themselves enough to sing in tune BUT so no one else can hear that music. It is very important that only your child can hear when you are doing the recording.

The second device (eg another phone) is for recording your child singing the song. So the result will be your child singing, but will look like there’s no music.   Don’t worry, this will be taken care of during the editing process.

Please find the relevant lyric sheets, depending on which year level your child is in, at the end of this message. Students will have this embedded into their next Music class as well, but here is a spare copy – just in case.

Then, all that remains to be done is to use the link that we will provide next week to upload your child’s performance video.

That’s it, all done!

Here are a couple of things to remember:

  • Please wear your BNPS uniform when recording the video
  • Please make sure we can see your child’s face clearly - not too close but maybe so we can see him/her from the waist up
  • Encourage your child to sing (or perform the AUSLAN) with plenty of energy and lots of smiles – it’s a happy message
  • HAVE FUN – this will be awesome!

If you have any further questions, please email Audrey Fine at school.

Thank you for your support
