Year 2 News

Year 2 Remote Learning 2.0

Wow! Wow! Wow! We are so proud of the Year 2 students. Although we know the students would rather be in the classroom with their teacher and friends, we are truly amazed at how they have adapted to using Teams and interacting with their teachers and other students. They are showing respect and resilience and being risk takers.

The students seem to be enjoying the activities and teaching we are providing. We are aware that not one size does not fit all, but we are trying our best to accommodate all students.

It has been pleasing to see some of the work the children are completing and we love to see the variety of word work activities that are being sent to us. It has also been pleasing to see level of engagement in their specialist sessions and the quality of the work they are producing.

Thank you to all our wonderful parents for supporting their child’s learning at home. We really are all in this together. Fingers crossed we will be back in the classroom for Term 4.

Enjoy viewing some photos of the Year 2 learning.

Year 2 Assemblies

Each Friday, all the Year 2 Students gather for a live Year 2 Assembly at 11.30am.

The students have really enjoyed having a Fun Friday theme to celebrate the end of a wonderful week of learning!

A few weeks ago the students showcased their funny hats and last week they joined us with their silly and funny glasses! We also use this time as opportunity to invite a special guest to attend from our leadership, specialist or enrichment team. So far we have had Mrs Duffy, Mrs Anderson and Mrs Graham visit our sessions to greet the students and give them a chance to showcase their amazing learning. Mrs Graham has been assisting our Science aspect of our Unit of Inquiry ‘Sharing the Planet’ by providing mealworm videos and encouraging the students to draw, think and reflect on how these will change over time. Stay tuned…

We use this chance to connect as a year level but also celebrate student achievement. Enjoy viewing the certificates of our Star Students from last week.
