Royal Botanic Gardens excursion

On Monday October 7th, the Year 5/6s went to the Royal Botanical Gardens for our inquiry unit about ‘Wellbeing’. Our guides showed us the botanical gardens and their names were Kim and Jason. First we walked around the botanical gardens, some main places we walked to was the rainforest, the herb garden and the pond. At the herb garden we made this ball that had flower petals and lavender and it smelled nice. Later on we split up into small groups and did some fun activities such as mediation, reading a book, sketching and exercising/stretching.

We were shown how to make potpourri bags, by putting aromatic flowers such as rose petals and lavender into a pouch. He also showed us calming places around the garden where people would meditate or enjoy the space around them, He told us that being around nature makes us feel better. By Lilly
