Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new term of excitement and challenges, change and opportunity. Who would have thought only a few months ago that the delivery of our education programmes would look as it does today.

A new school and a new faculty team brings opportunity for growth and development with faculty meetings and professional development learning. In these “unprecedented” times, the growth and development has been scaled up a notch!

This term would traditionally see excursions for our VCE students in Business Management, Economics and Legal Studies. An opportunity to cement practical applications to textbook theory is always welcome by students and teachers alike. While the excursions won’t be happening this year, this wonderful faculty have been working hard to ensure their subject offerings during remote learning have been just as compelling. Professional development has included lessons on the use of Screencast-O-Matic, turning our teachers into movie stars. We no longer gather in the staff room, preferring to catch up in Google Hangouts with students and teachers alike.

I thank all of the wonderful teachers at Mazenod College and particularly the faculty I have been blessed to be a part of. I know how much you are going above and beyond for your students during this difficult time. Your efforts will ensure that all of our Mazenod Boys return to traditional classes all the better because of their Mazenod remote learning experience.
