Senior School

Senior School Snapshot

As we move into the last week of term 1 it is a good chance for students in the senior school to take a deep breath and reflect on how they have gone over the past 8 weeks.

Year 11 and 12 students will have completed at least one SAC in each of their subjects by now and will probably be moving into the second area of study for Unit 1 or 3, respectively. Year 10 students will be more than half way through their first semester electives and will be moving on to new topics.

It was good to see so many students at the parent/teacher/student interviews last week. As was discussed during these meetings, students should be asking themselves, “Have I been working to my full potential so far this year?”. If the answer was no, then the term break is an excellent opportunity to recallibrate and set up some positive study habits.  If any student needs help with how to do this please come to the senior school office and have a chat with us – we are here to help.

Last week saw the Greatest Shave challenge held in the ampitheatre. This event was organised by the SRC and what an amazing job they did. With Year 12 students/victims Tara Reiter and Jackson Birch giving their hair in the name of cancer research, the day raised in excess of an amazing $5,000.

In sport, the senior boys baseball team successfully started on their mission of back to back state finals by winning their first game of 2018 against Blackburn High School.

Finally, we wish everyone a relaxing Term 1 holiday. Please keep safe and come back refreshed and raring to go for Term 2.
