RU OK?

How We Celebrated

RUOK day is a national day of action to ensure we are asking each other “R U OK?”. This national suicide prevention initiative creates awareness about how to ask when it is noticed that a friend, family member, colleague or acquaintance isn’t ok. RUOK? Day was recognised at Kurunjang Secondary College with some of our Year 11 students treating staff to coffee and biscuits delivered to them with a smile and a very important question, asking them if they are ok. Students were welcomed to the college at the gates by students and staff asking them if they are ok, and enjoyed many lunch time activities including Disc Golf, Soccer, Biscuit decorating, Pin the Horn on the Unicorn, Obstacles courses, Water Pong and Hand ball. Together with Youth Services from Melton Council, our wellbeing team put together a selection of activities to highlight participation and to embrace spending time well with our friends. A positive mental health message for all involved.
