District Athletics

Athletics Carnival

The District athletics carnival was held at Bridge Rd Athletics Track on 3rd September, 2019.

Kurunjang sent a strong squad of athletes who competed in track events such as 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m races.

Field events such as discus, shot put, javelin, high jump, long jump and triple jump.

As usual we had many excellent performances on the day and a number of records broken.

Jamal Henwood  broke a 5 year record for Long Jump by 44cm and broke a 5 year record for Triple Jump by 60cm.

Alyssa Benbow  broke a 7 year record for Discus by 7.11m

Anastacia Avramopoulos broke a 7 year 200m record by 0.2 of a second.

Simon Faafoa  broke a 2 year Discus record by 2m.

Congratulations to the following students who have progressed to the Western Metropolitan Regional Athletics finals to be held on the 19th September at Keilor Park Athletics Club.
