EMAIL NOT TO BE USED TO CHANGE DAILY ATTENDANCES
EMAIL TO BE USED for changing permanent bookings, making advanced bookings/cancellations (ie holiday program, school closure days), account queries, addressing special needs, incidents that need clarification, and the like. Emails are not checked prior to a session as administrative duties are addressed off site and away from the service as our priority lies with the active supervision of children, their development and wellbeing.
Having said all of the above, if children ever find themselves confused, not knowing where they're supposed to be, please have a "back up plan" by stating they can always go to after care and together we can resolve their situation. This is an important aspect of children’s “belonging, being and becoming” which involves them learning independence, coping skills and OSHC Educators available to children for support and to provide a secure base for children as needed. (NQS 5 Circle of security)
Term 2; Programming- We are all wonders
During the Holiday program children watched “Wonder” a heart-warming film about a young boy called Auggie who had facial differences who then enters fifth grade in a mainstream elementary school for the first time. As an extension, Educators will plan and collaborate with children, activities and experiences that will broaden their understanding of diversity and the importance of inclusiveness. Children have already begun to create kindness posters and develop group displays that document their own acts of random kindness.
Furthermore, we will share in the real life of a boy with Treacher Collins by watching a 20/20 report on YouTube. This will definitely promote anti-bullying and heighten compassion. We will also encourage children to produce care packages for the vulnerable in the community. Finally, we plan to join the world wide pledge to “Choose Kind”.
In this pursuit of providing opportunities to ensure children engage in quality experiences for rich learning, personal development and citizenship opportunities (MTOP p3) we ultimately aim that they learn to interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect.(FW1.4)
Look out for our new displays and as always feedback is welcome.
Accounts now due and overdue accounts
The OSHC accounts are now out and cover the holiday program. They are due within 7 days. Anything beyond that is overdue.
Families who received a suspension from care notice and wish to use the program again will be asked to set up a reoccurring payment through their bank which is based on each individual family’s usage.
Please note that not only did the government cancel funding but also demands that all enrolment advances be “reimbursed.” This is important to know as frequent payments keep the OSHC running efficiently.
Thank you in advance.
* Please note:
A payment was made on 13/3/2018 from the Bendigo bank and another 16/3/2018 with just a reference number. Unfortunately our system does not recognise either of these payments as NO FAMILY nor CHILD”S NAME was placed in the reference area.
Please check your statements and should you find that your account has not reconciled then please immediately email Melissa.
Preparing for the new Child Care Subsidy- July 2018
When the Child Care Subsidy commences on 2 July 2018, it will:
- replace the Child Care Benefit ( CCB ) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) with a single, means-tested subsidy.
- be paid directly to child care providers to be passed on to families.
- be simpler than the current multi-payment system.
We now ask parents to be prepared for the transition:
- Use the Government Child Care Subsidy estimator to determine expected entitlements
https://www.education.gov.au/sites/education/files/chcare/est/index.html
- Ensure you have a MyGov account as this will be important in authorising Enrolments and allowing the CCS to flow through
- Increase your understanding of the CCS and the changes by visiting Government information sites such as
