From the Assistant Principals...

Use of IT

Students have been reminded this week about the school's policy and agreement on use of IT.  We have had several instances of children straying from the accepted sites and games allocated to their learning and using their chrome books for searching for games or songs and browsing different images for their background screen. The consequence for inappropriate use of the internet and devices at school is loss of privileges to use these items. Children will be given paper activities to complete if they are found to be using their IT in unacceptable ways while at school.

Students also should not be emailing teachers personally, please encourage your child to speak to their teacher at school as they are now back on site each day.

Teaching and Learning

Now that our children are back at school, teachers will be assessing students to see how they have progressed after the interruptions of Covid 19.  Teachers have worked together to identify the priority areas within the NSW Syllabuses to ensure teaching time is well targeted. Learning programs are being rearranged to accommodate for the important content and skills that need to be covered for the rest of the term and beyond.

The children are still working on their Project Based Learning in the afternoons and the results are amazing!  The opportunity to work independently on the PBL grids has enabled the students to use many different skills and apply knowledge from a range of learning areas in a practical way.  It has been an opportunity for them to build and apply independent work habits and show their innovation.
