PD/H/PE

Mr M Paterson

It has been a busy time in the PD/H/PE department, with junior students completing numerous assessment tasks and seniors either completing final exams or are studying solidly for their H.S.C. exams.

As the term draws to a close, our students are to be commended on the manner in which they have handled the constant changes to our local sporting scene, such as the ongoing variations to which sports have been restricted and reintroduced. The students positive approach towards the activities and their peers typifies the M.C.S. culture and spirit and they should be very proud of the camaraderie and resilience that they have demonstrated in recent months.

The reintroduction of a lunchtime sporting competition will see the M.C.S. Slam 2-on-2 basketball commence in Stage groups. There has been a lot of interest in this competition and we look forward to some quality match-ups and games. This will take place in the secondary quad on the new adjustable basketball ring.

Finally, I'd like to congratulate all of the sport leaders who have done an exceptional job in running the multiple sports during period 1 on Wednesdays. These Year 9 and 10 students having confidently and competently organised and refereed their peers in a variety of sports. Their leadership skills and levels of self-confidence have improved significantly as a result of this program and they should all be very pleased with their efforts.
