Principal's Report

Welcome back everyone. I am so pleased to say that knowing we will see all year levels back at school on Monday!

Whether you interacted with all the remote learning, some of the remote learning, took a day or two off to look after yourself or even took a little longer away from the computer screen to do other things to keep yourself healthy I commend you. We are well planned for the return of students and look forward to working with our students on their social/emotional and academic learning.

Pick up and Drop off – time to let teachers/office know

Please check your email. Your class teacher will have emailed you the procedure for school drop offs and school pick up.  It is very similar to the procedures we used at the end of Term 2 however, children are required to be at school by 9.15 am to maximise our literacy learning!

Parents, please notify the teacher early in the day if your child is not being picked up at the allocated time or is going to after school care.

Hats and School Uniform

Our school uniform looks good.  It looks even better when everyone is in FULL school uniform.

The weather is/will be warming up this term.  Our school sun smart policy requires all students to wear a broadbrim hat.  Not a cap.  Students not wearing a broadbrim hat will be asked to play undercover.

In addition to this, I am asking all students to make an extra effort to be in full school uniform. Black, red or white runners are the only colours that are permitted with our uniform, shorts and pants without logos and black or white socks without logos.

I ask that everyone wears full school uniform each day out of respect to our school rules.

Talking about looking good….

Over the COVID break, we have had our back basketball court resurfaced in our school colours.  This work has also included new four-square courts and new basketball towers.  I can’t wait to see our students out there playing on it!!

Some of our students….

Indy in 5M performed in The Australian Dance Project's tribute to front line workers during the pandemic. She had to learn a dance routine over 2 weeks via Zoom classes and then video it and send it to them to edit into this beautiful YouTube tribute which premiered on 26/09/2020.  The video is on the LPS Facebook page or you can view the video at:

Oscar and Logan in 4V will be appearing on the My Room telethon on Channel 9 that will combine with the AFL Footy Show Grand Final eve show. Look out for them and give them a wave on grand final eve!

Individual Education Plans

Teachers have been busy revising each student’s IEP.  It is important to do this to ensure we are clear on what we need to do to prepare students for 2021. The goals are largely based off remote learning so may need to be amended upon return if assessment tasks suggest a new goal should be set. Feel free to discuss the goals with your child’s class teacher.

Have a great week,

Mark Moorhouse
