Principal's News

Dear Families,

We are beginning to plan for learning to return onsite. It will be very exciting for everyone -Parents, Students and all Staff when this day finally arrives. As per the Government announcement the Prep-2 students will return on Monday 12th October with the Year 3-6's yet to be announced. All students will continue to undertake remote learning in the first week back after the holidays (5th - 9th October). At this point no further information has been released. When it becomes available I will let you know.

Hopefully Sunday was a time to celebrate Father's Day and that all our fathers enjoyed the wonderful weather and time with their families. Normally at Trinity we would have held a Father's Day breakfast to celebrate, we will make this bigger and better in 2021.

Last Friday, all the staff at Trinity worked hard reviewing the last 4 years of work undertaken in the 5 Spheres of Learning and Teaching, Education in Faith, Student Wellbeing, Leadership and Management as well as School Community.  We were required to gather evidence to support an assessment of where we scored on the School Improvement Framework Rubric used by the Catholic Education Office to review our processes. We were very proud to be able to plot ourselves at the far end or near far end for most criteria. The work undertaken in regard to school improvement has certainly been impressive.

This Rubric along with the evidence will be handed over to an independent reviewer who will then formulate her own assessement after a 2 day visit to the school (via Zoom) in November.

Staff took a short break from planning and meetings last week to share a game of Kahoot and a laugh. The theme  Dress for a Holiday on a Cruise Ship gave everyone an opportunity to dream about holidays, even for a short time. It was a very competitive, but fun game of Trivia and congratulations to Miss Maryanne who triumphed. We hope she will enjoy her prize.

Congratulations

We are thrilled to announce that Corbin in Year 6 has been awarded a Scholarship to Xavier College beginning next year. Each year Xavier offer one of our Year 6 boys the opportunity to attend the College. We thank Xavier College for providing this wonderful opportunity as well congratulate Corbin on this great achievement.

Trinity Times

Thanks Finn for consistently getting the Trinity Times to print on time each week and Melina for sharing her photo of Battie- your bunny's a real cutie.

R U OK?

R U OK? Today is R U OK? Day. It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” if someone in your world is struggling

with life’s ups and downs.

The message for R U OK? Day 2020 is:

'THERE'S MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK?'

2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more

important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those

around us. In the lead-up to R U OK? Day we’ll help Australians know what to say when someone

says they’re not OK and guide them through how they can continue a conversation that could change a life. You don’t have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says they’re not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before they’re in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life.

the message in our community.

Welcome 2021 Preps

Yesterday the 2020 prep teachers and myself welcomed the 2021 Preps to Trinity Catholic School via Zoom.  Not the most most ideal welcome but it was still wonderful to meet the families again and begin the transition to school.  We keep our fingers crossed that we can continue our orientations onsite sometime during Term 4.

Tik Tok

In response to the video which was circulating through Tik Toc we have decided to block TikTok on Google under URL blockings which will block TikTok access on chromebooks.. Currently our Zscaler already blocks TikTok when the students are onsite but now while they are logged into  their Trinity account (..@tcs.catholic.edu.au) at home this will also be blocked.

The last day of Term 3 will be next Friday 18th at 1:30pm.

Stay Safe
