Spring has sprung – a season of hope, new beginnings, and looking forward.

There is an old American Cherokee story which may depict the battle of emotions that many of us may be having as we continue in lockdown, remote learning and working from home, etc….

A Native American Cherokee Story – Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

“One is Evil – It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, RESENTMENT, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

“The other is Good – It is joy, peace, love, HOPE, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

SO LET’S EMBRACE THE ‘GOOD’ WOLF – LOOKING FORWARD WITH HOPE, KINDNESS, EMPATHY AND GENEROSITY among other positive things.

I have been enjoying the warmer Spring weather on my daily walks and have seen creative signs of reaching out with hope and kindness in my neighbourhood – enjoy the photos below.  I have noticed bees, butterflies and lorikeets enjoying the grevilleas in my garden – unfortunately they don’t ‘wait’ while I try to take a photo!

I am really looking forward to seeing all the students return in term 4.  Thank you for your mammoth efforts parents, carers and kids during this difficult term.

Get out and enjoy Spring!
