Spanish Incursion – Wednesday 20th November

Last week we had the privilege of watching Mexican wrestlers from Lucha Fantastica perform for us and teach us all about Mexican storytelling. Everyone enjoyed the show and we saw wrestling costumes and masks. Victor, the MC played some great Spanish tunes and got the audience dancing and cheering. Some students and teachers took part in the show and helped save the Luchadora Princess by doing wrestler poses and showing everyone their dance moves. Mr. Keen, Mr. Quinn and Mr. Liston dressed up as dragons, although they needed a few lessons from the kids on how to be scary. Miss Fox, Miss Males and Mrs Jeeves were the wise panthers and Mr. Todd was a sneaky lizard. Everyone got involved and learnt some Spanish with chants such as “Si”, “Vamos” and “Uno, dos, tres”, while also learning about Mexican history.

It was an incredible day and a big thank-you to the guys from Lucha Fantastica for the show, thank-you teachers for your encouragement, and a big thank-you to the OGPS students for getting involved and having fun!
