Love of Life Long Learning
This week I am privileged to be undertaking a 3rd unit towards my Masters of Theology. In our Unit – Interpreting Biblical Text we are currently unpacking the story of Exodus. I have been fascinated to learn about the early Isralites, the history of the Jewish people, the oral traditions, and the literary devices used by the authors in our Bible. It has been a privilege to debate, discuss and listen to the wonderful stories of our lecturer Mary Coloe. The two days have rekindled and inspired my love of learning that was developed at school by my outstanding teachers. This love of learning was further nurtured by my mum, who would sit each night and quiz me about my day at school. We would debate politics, ethics and religion. Discuss the big stories of the time and I grew to love the intellectual debate and stimulation.
This week I would like to encourage parents to celebrate the love of learning. To explain the events of parliament this week. To debate, critique and question and in so doing develop the skills to prepare our students for the future. The love of learning that will allow them to master new and exciting concepts and to tackle anything that comes their way in the 21st Century
