Year 3-4 Update.

Welcome to Term 4!

Welcome back to all of our students and families! We hope you all had an exciting, but restful holiday and are ready for a wonderful term of learning!

This term will be filled with lots of valuable and fun learning experiences for our 3/4 students!

In Reading, we will be learning about the comprehension strategies ‘Analysing and Critiquing’. As part of this unit, students will strengthen their ability to talk about the texts that they read. This means students will develop their ability in sharing what type of text they are reading, how they know, and what writing skills an author has incorporated to engage their reader!

In Writing, the 3/4 students will be strengthening their skills in Narrative Writing. Students will apply their creativity and imagination to craft entertaining narratives. The emphasis will be on ensuring that the students are incorporating the essential components of writing a successful Imaginative text.

In Mathematics, students will be extending their place value knowledge. Students will focus on the Place Value of Decimals and Fractions. This will include comparing and ordering fractions, as well as placing decimal fractions on a number line.

During Integrated Studies, students will collaboratively engage in the artform, Stop Motion! Students will be able to make connections to Writing and draw upon their artistic skills to create a stop motion film that aligns with their Narrative Writing!

In week 7, during November, our students will be attending a FREE camp at Iluka Retreat, Mornington Peninsula! Students will develop both their collaborative and problem-solving skills through a variety of fun and engaging activities. We are so excited and cannot wait for our students to partake in this exciting experience.

We look forward to working with you to be able to provide the best education for your children,

Dana Castello (3/4C), Zaid Farhadi (3/4F) & Louise Smith (3/4S)
