Principal's Report

Dear St A’s community,

Term 4 is off and running.  Another busy start to an incredibly jam-packed term.

The Bike Education Program has begun for the students in Grade 3-6 and so far they have enjoyed this great learning opportunity!  The students have been practicing their riding skills using the front car park and moving to the Basketball court when the weather has turned.  Giving the students a  chance to experience safe bike routines is extremely beneficial, as they begin to navigate transporting themselves to and from school. The program aims to provide the opportunity to learn about safe riding behaviours, road rules, and riding in a shared environment. The more students can learn about their own safety when riding their bike the better prepared they will be. This program is another addition to the already full PE program and we hope to be able to continue and fund this program for years to come.

When it rains it pours!

Last week at St A's, we experienced very heavy rain, and as a result, water entered the prep rooms, causing damage to the carpets and lino, etc. Currently, the preps have been relocated to the Dantum building and are enjoying their learning in a new environment. This will help them prepare for their transition into Grade 1.  We are currently having work done in the prep area and hope to have the preps back in their classrooms by Week 4 of the term.   We are looking forward to having this completed and a new fresh look for the prep area.

                             Bandanna Day

Leading up to the 28th of October St A's students will have the opportunity to buy a bandanna to help support people with cancer. Our students will have the opportunity to buy a bandana for $5.00.  Please help support this great initiative by sending along $5.00 with your child. The bandanna's can be purchased from the office and students will be selling bandanna's in classrooms as well.  The students will all wear their bandana's on 'Bandanna Day.'  A big thank you to Eleanor Blick and Addison Dexter who have been instrumental in the preparation of this social justice event.

St A's Trivia Night 22nd October

Make sure you buy your ticket for this school social event! This will be the first big social parent event for the school since the dreaded COVID-19 struck.  The more people that come the better the night will be.  It's a great opportunity to meet other parents and develop a social connection.  Come along and enjoy the fun!

                    FaceBook Page

Every Sunday night Jacinta Martin posts a weekly update on the official school FaceBook page.  This will help all parents keep up to date with what is happening in the school and is another reminder when things get busy!  Make sure you like the page below to stay connected!

Have a great weekend everybody.

Take care and God Bless.
