Kick off the summer tennis season @ Summertown Tennis Club!
Summertown is one of the best tennis clubs in the Adelaide Hills known for our fun, family friendly culture and on court success! We invite you and your family & friends to consider the range of junior competitions and activities on offer at Summertown Tennis Club. In the 2022/23 season, Summertown are providing:
· Junior coaching – Tuesday afternoons
· Red Ball (4-8 years) junior coaching (no competition)
· Orange ball (8-10 years) Friday night or Saturday morning competition
· Green ball (9-12 years) Friday night or Saturday morning competition
· Yellow ball (12+ years) Saturday morning competition
· Div 1 yellow ball Friday night competition
Season dates:
· Coaching starts Tuesday 18th October
· Weekend competition starts 21/22 Oct & ends 16/17 Dec (9 weeks)
· Christmas Holiday Break
· Weekend competition starts 27/28 Jan & ends 3/4 Mar (6 weeks)
Coaching:
Coaching lessons are on Tuesdays or Wednesdays after school and go for half an hour or 45 minutes (depending on age & level). There are normally 4-6 kids in a coaching group. Summertown tries to keep friendship groups in the same coaching lessons, however coaching lessons are a great opportunity to create community friends!
Competition:
Summertown also offers weekend tennis competitions which run on a Friday night or Saturday morning. Juniors get the opportunity to play against other juniors in the hills, bond with their teammates and practise their skills in match play scenarios!

Uraidla Cricket Club
If your child is interested in playing cricket this season go to uraidlacricketclub.com to check out the programs available. We are also introducing an all girls side (age 13-16 years) this season.
Basket Range CFS Cadets
The Basket Range CFS is looking for boys & girls aged 11-16 years, to join the Basket Range CFS as cadets.
Training is held fortnightly on a Friday - 6 - 7 pm, starting at the Basket Range CFS station, Burdetts Rd, Basket Range.
Some benefits of becoming a cadet:
- all protective clothing provided (no charge)
- no fees payable
- training provided by experienced trainers
- learning a wide range of skills including pumps & hoses, first aid, working as a team and more
- attendance at controlled burns off (under certain conditions)
Basket Range CFS is currently accepting cadets from Basket Range, and surrounding areas.

VACSWIM
VACSWIM SA is South Australia's most renowned summer holiday program giving our kids (aged 3-12) confidence in and around the water! Programs are offered as 5-day blocks across over 120 locations so there's bound to be one near you.
2022/23 VACSWIM Locations and Dates!
VACSWIM is held as 5-day blocks (Monday to Friday) across January & December school holidays.
The 2022/23 season block dates are as follows:
Block 1: 19th to 23rd December 2022
Block 2: 2nd to 6th January 2023 (please note: this includes the public holiday)
Block 3: 9th to 13th January 2023
Block 4: 16th to 20th January 2023

History book for sale
Have you seen the new Uraidla book written by local historian Geoffrey Bishop on behalf of the East Torrens Historical Society? It tells the story of the Uraidla township, from the beginning to current day and is a fascinating read!
