FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome

It is a pleasure to be back on deck in 2023, and actively planning wonderful learning experiences for our students. We have had a very busy (and hot) start to the year. I would like to warmly welcome everyone back to Wyndham College and also extend a special welcome to all those students and families who are new to the school this year. I trust that this is the beginning of a happy association with the Wyndham College community. Our students commenced the year with a ‘Strong Start’. This initiative was well-received by our students and will significantly contribute to a sense of belonging and connectedness for our students.

Staff Update

Ann-Maree Ager has commenced as Deputy Principal (Year 12), and we are so thrilled to have her on our team. Classa Martinuzzi will continue to expertly guide our Year 11 students. As a senior executive, the three of us are always happy to hear from our parents, carers and community about ways in which we can improve the educational experience for our students.

Our staffing is very stable in 2023, but we are still hopeful of filling a TAS position in the coming weeks. Our Head Teacher TAS, Dallas Richmond is doing an outstanding job of balancing a number of classes while we wait for a replacement.

Celebration Assembly

It will be a pleasure to welcome some of our students who completed the HSC in 2022. Our Celebration Assembly will be held on 22 February and will provide a forum for past students to share their experience of the final year of school. Our current students will benefit greatly from their insights, hints and tips.

Uniform and Presentation

It is expected that students will present themselves well at all times and wear their school uniform with pride and in an acceptable manner. Parents and carers, who may need assistance to obtain the correct items of uniform, should approach the school. We have worked very hard over the past 12 months to improve the wearing of uniform and will be insisting that students are in uniform every day.
