Deputy Principal

Mr Daniel Lapolla

Welcome back to the start of another busy term. As we approach the end of Week 2, we get a sense for how quickly Term 4 will travel. With a shorter term of just eight weeks, we have much to fit in.

It is timely for our boys to be mindful of deadlines and working to a set schedule. Being organised for what’s to come in order to achieve maximum results. We unequivocally ask lots of our boys not only within the classroom but within our community. As a community we must play our part, with what seems like so much going on at once. Being diligent with what is expected of you, being on top of those demands, putting your best self forward at every opportunity and seeking help or support when needed. I wish all of our community a productive and fulfilling end to the academic year.

Data informing decision making

Over the course of Term 3 our Year 7s, 8s and 9s were engaged in PAT Testing at various stages. This data combined with NAPLAN, application to learning and social behaviour will provide our College Welfare team with valuable data when formulating class allocations for 2023. I communicated with families at the end of last term regarding the opportunity to give feedback in terms our data sets and I thank those families who responded. One cannot underestimate a positive attitude and mindset when in any class. A desire to improve and a willingness to ask questions, seek help and be active in the learning process are vital. Simply being with friends is not sufficient and from our experience does not always support academic success. Once again, I thank you for your collaboration.
