Junior School

Tonight we are looking forward to our Stage 3 Showcase, where our students in Year 4 will have the opportunity to consider the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for them in Years 5 and 6.

Yesterday, we hosted our annual “Stay and Play” day to welcome the new Early Years students who will be joining our Springwood campus next year. In bright sunshine, and with lots of keen and excited littlies and parents, it was a thoroughly enjoyable morning with many new friendships quickly made.

I would like to thank all the students at the campus who were so welcoming of our new children.  In particular, congratulations to our Year 2 students, who gave a special performance in their Strings Ensemble to our visitors, and the current Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten children who shared their wisdom of starting school with the audience.

As our busy Term 4 continues, next week our Stage 1 and Stage 2 students will be going exploring, with Stage 1 visiting Scenic World, and Stage 2 travelling to the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Of course, at the end of next week, we have our annual Tour de Montagnes Bleues to look forward to.  Let us hope that we are blessed with more of the lovely sunshine we have been enjoying these past few days!

Term 4 - Week 3

The BMGS Swish had another strong game. Leading the game with a 20-point lead at halftime, with the opposition still on zero, the boys had the mercy rules enforced and I also asked them to apply a new higher defence as well. Once again everyone on the team scored. It's been a strong start to the season for the Swish, who are currently in second place on the ladder.

The BMGS Slam Dunks had a bye.

On Tuesday the BMGS Stars played an inexperienced team that only had four players so in the spirit of ‘fair play’ some of our team members played for the opposition. We had eight players present and even after camp and swim school, there was still plenty of energy. Harry Burgess, Hugo Courtemanche, Robert Sommerville, Jari Povelsen, Sebastian Nicholls and Madeleine Russell all scored, some multiple times. Our team had to apply the ‘mercy rule’ to allow the opposition down the court. It was great to see Alexander Kinnear and Sebastian Olmos getting more action as the team tried to make sure they scored too. The final score was 16-10, with most of the opposition’s points being scored by Sebastian Nicolls as he played for them in the last two minutes of the game.
