Positive Behaviours for Learning Focus

Respect means that you accept somebody for who they are, even when they're different from you or you don't agree with them. It is important to show respect at all times, when we are interacting with others, this includes interacting via use of technology. Respect in relationships builds feelings of trust, safety, and wellbeing. Respect is something we learn.

Each learning group will be focussing on the following expectations from our PBL Matrix. These will be explicitly taught during Wellbeing Hour & revisited throughout the days.

It would be great if you could also reinforce these expectations at home and ask your child/children how they are following these at school.

At OLSC we shine when we show:

Respect:

  • We speak using appropriate words and tone
  • We use kind words and actions
  • We take and use photos or videos for learning only
  • We ask permission before taking photos or videos of another person

Responsibility

  • We take ownership of our choices
  • We hand our mobile phone in to our learning group teacher each day

Resilience:

  • We accept the consequences of our actions
  • We talk through our disagreements with others
  • We report anything that makes us feel
  • We let an adult know if we are feeling unsafe
