Learning and Teaching Update

'We aim to provide a school environment where ‘Every person can flourish and be known’ This means that our teaching program identifies the unique needs of each individual student, and delivers a learning program designed to grow them into the best person that they can be'.

Dear Parents and Families

We are already in Week Six! It has been a wonderfully busy term so far.

The teachers have been assessing students using a variety of assessment tools to determine where the students are at in their learning, identify their strengths and gaps and plan for their future learning.

The ‘Getting to Know You Conversations’ have helped teachers in gathering useful information about your child and together with the formal assessments, we plan for their learning. I have been a part of all the planning meetings where teams of teachers work collaboratively together to plan units of work. It is this collaboration that ensures that every child at St Anthony’s is known and is catered for in our school.

I share with you a few photos of learning across the school this week.

Level 1/2 learning about Our Community

Level 1/2 students learning how to upload their work to their portfolios.

Foundation students having a Brain Break with Cosmic Yoga

Foundation students learning their numbers through song.

Buddy Reading with 1/2 We and 3/4 Pl

Level 3/4 So are learning about values as taught by Jesus in the Bible story of Zaccheus.

Have a wonderful long weekend.

Kind Regards

Glennis Kerr
