Literacy and Numeracy

MATHS IN YEAR 1

Each fortnight a Year Level will be sharing their learnings. Check out the wonderful mathematics that has been happening in Year 1.  

In Year One we have been learning about addition. We have used counters, blocks, MAB blocks, number lines and our fingers to help us. We have been going excellent with our learning. Buzz has been sensational to play too! We practiced counting by 2s and 5s in buzz. 

Isaac

We have been learning addition. Sometimes we use number lines. Say it was 4 + 1 you bounce along the line. 

Ivy

In our booklets,  on the last page, we practiced skip counting. I can count by 1s, 2s and some others. 

Patrick 

We had to colour in dots to show addition. The answer matches the picture. This helps us see the addition problem in our mind. 

Harlea 

We made a booklet. We had to count and figure out the answers. There was lots of work but it was ok.
