Class of 2020 Valedicatory Dinner

It was touch and go with the snap five day lockdown and increased restrictions two weeks ago, but last night we were finally able to celebrate the graduation of the class of 2020 with students and their families.

Dinner and dancing, with the formalities kept to a mimium led to a great night where students could catch up with their classmates and teachers to reminisce about school and talk about the future.  It was great to hear how excited students are about their plans as they start their courses and new career pathways.  It was suprising to hear how well prepared our students felt for online learning in the tertiary environment.  Perhaps that is a silver lining from the 2020 lockdowns.

Thank you to Mrs Wendy Pearce for her plannning and organisation of the evening.  Its a huge task organising a formal event for that many people.   Thanks also to Mrs Mingos, Ms King, Mr Pollock and Mrs White for all their work in making sure the evening ran smoothly

2020 Honour Roll

In a 'normal' year we would have presented the 'Most Outstanding Student Awards' for each subject. We presented these at the final assembly last year, so we took the opportunity to present the 2020 Honour Roll in front of family and friends.

The Honour Roll is all the students who received study scores over 90.  Usually this is presented at school in an assembly in February.

In 2020 we had 12 students on the honour roll. They are:

Jennifer Quah

Carli-May Beary

Alexis Brown

Isabella Clark

Jasmine Dowling

Grace Flanagan

Teagan Kaye

Yoyo Miao

Jesse Morton

Adam Naorniakowski

Sarah Paxton

Mia Ward

We also recognise students who get study scores of 50 on the honour roll as well as our top VCAL student.

Connor Winter Study Score of 50

Physical Education

Brooke Delaney (VCAL)

College Dux

Congratulations to Jennifer Quah who was the 2020 Wantirna College Dux with an ATAR score of 96.1 placeing her in the top 3.9% of all students.  We are excited to hear that Jennifer plans to study Education and become a teacher.
