Curriculum

Great to see everyone back after the weekend! We hope you all are feeling refreshed as we come into the last few weeks. Thank you to all of the 3/4 students and their families for their consistent effort.

In Writing, students had their final week creating and exploring narratives. Using our story graphs and plans from the previous week, students spent some time constructing and drafting narratives earlier in the week. Later in the week, students began to edit and uplevel these writing pieces using a variety of up-leveling tools and strategies that you might like to ask your child about.  During Reading we have begun to look at persuasive texts and some of the different persuasive features of these text types. Some of the features included statistics, facts, and exaggeration. We even made some funny persuasive videos in one of these sessions which were really exciting to watch!

Our Maths sessions have been heaps of fun learning conducting research and collecting data on everyone's favourite type of chocolate. With this data, students were then able to create a variety of different graphs including a column and strip graph. It was great to see all of the different data collections and displays! What is your favourite type of chocolate?

In Guided Inquiry, we explored perspectives of the First Australians and those on the First Fleet. We spent some time making and presenting some short role-plays. It was great to see all of the students exploring the different perspectives.

To ensure a smooth transition for the upcoming NAPLAN testing we require all Year 3 students to download the NAP Locked Down Browser App for their Ipads by next week.
