Library

Upgrade

Thanks to a Schools Plus grant that we received late last year, we’ve been able to achieve some much needed upgrades to our library! We have beautiful new shelves for our Fiction collection with heaps more display space to show off our gorgeous books, we’ve organised the Fiction collection by Genre and have nice clear signs on top of the shelves to help you find your way, and we’ve got new signs in the Non-Fiction section to match the rest of the library! We’re also getting new furniture for the library thanks to the same grant, which will hopefully arrive soon, we’ve already got our new ottomans which you might be able to spot in one of the photos…

Orientation for Year 7's

Over the last couple of weeks, our Librarian, Pam De Geus, has been running library classes with the Year 7 cohort to familiarise them with our space. They've all had a lesson on what activities our library offers, how to find a good book, using our online catalogue, what the Dewey numbers mean, then all topped off with a scavenger hunt. It's been wonderful to hear the many comments about how much they like their 'new' library. Already many of our Year 7s are enjoying the library at lunchtime, and borrowing books for their own enjoyment at home and for their English classes.
